Rosebud Theatre is seeking a dresser to work backstage during the rehearsal and run of Little Women. The position starts May 27 and finishes on August 31, 2024.

This person would work with the Stage Management team, focusing on wardrobe, and assisting the actors with quick changes. Outside of show calls, this person would also do laundry twice weekly.

About Us/Location

Rosebud Theatre is located in Rosebud, AB, about one hour east of Calgary. In a town of under 100 people, we hold dinner & theatre attended by over 30,000 patrons annually.

Time Commitment

During rehearsal (May 27-June 6), the commitment is Monday to Saturday.

During the show run (June 7-August 31), the commitment is Wednesday to Saturday with one other day per week for laundry (flexible day).

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists Wardrobe department in tracking and managing costumes backstage.

• Assists cast members during quick changes.

• May assist with other show-related duties including pre-setting costumes and props, or moving scenery, set pieces, and/or props during scene changes or intermission breaks.

• Completes minor repairs to costumes.

• Completes show laundry including any daily washes and twice weekly major wash.

Qualifications

• Able to stay focussed and organized, especially in an intense and changing atmosphere.

• Able to repeat precise actions consistently.

• Able to follow checklists and execute specific instructions.

• Able to do hand sewing.

• Backstage and theatre experience an asset, but not a requirement.

Wage

$750-$800 per week pending on laundry commitments.

Travel & Accommodations

One return travel to Rosebud will be covered.

‍

Housing is not provided, but the theatre can assist in finding accommodation.
