While Rosebud Theatre shows are paused, we're bringing audiences The Rosebud Homestage Tour. This is a new twist on a backstage tour, bringing you into the living rooms of artists connected with Rosebud to entertain you with bits of live music and theatre. Tune in every week to the Rosebud Theatre Facebook page for live concerts and performances by the people who make live theatre so worthwhile.
This week we featured pianist and composer, Sarah Houston. who performed some music from the documentary, Rosebud, Alberta that she co-wrote with filmmaker, director & composer, Eric Pauls. Sarah was recently introduced to Rosebud through this film and shared anecdotes of her experience creating and recording in the hamlet. She also shared some music from her own album, Home in a Far Away Land. View the documentary here.
Catch the next episode on Friday, June 5 at 7:00pm. Please note the time change this week as we share a special fundraising concert by SpiritLine. Spiritline is made up of Terry and Laura Bachynski, two supporters of Rosebud Theatre and School of the Arts. They were just finishing a cross-Canada tour when everything shut down due to the COVID-19 outbreak and their last few concerts were cancelled, including one in Rosebud. So this Friday they will share a concert virtually to support the arts in Rosebud. Please watch through the Laura Bachynski and Spiritline Facebook page and consider donating.
All donations will be matched up to $10,000, by another gracious benefactor, Dick and Lois Haskayne. "I will always remember my Rosebud roots and the community that supported me to become the person I am today“ says Lois Haskayne. “Arts are the cherry on the top”. #rosebudlives
