While Rosebud Theatre shows are paused, we're bringing audiences The Rosebud Homestage Tour. This is a new twist on a backstage tour, bringing you into the living rooms of artists connected with Rosebud to entertain you with bits of live music and theatre. Tune in every Friday at 12:00pm MST to the Rosebud Theatre Facebook page for live concerts and performances by the people who make live theatre so worthwhile.
This week we featured SpiritLine who held a special fundraising concert for Rosebud Theatre and School of the Arts. Laura and Terry Bachynski, who make up the group, have been great supporters for several years now and were scheduled to perform here in Rosebud this year. Unfortunately, COVID-19 shut everything down and the last few concerts in their cross-country tour had to be cancelled. We appreciate their generosity in holding this virtual concert benefiting our organization.
In addition to a great concert, all donations were matched by another benefactor, Dick and Lois Haskayne. "I will always remember my Rosebud roots and the community that supported me to become the person I am today,“ says Lois Haskayne. “Arts are the cherry on the top”.
Catch the next episode on the Rosebud Theatre Facebook page on Friday, June 12 at 12:00pm, featuring The Lucky Valentines, a husband and wife duo. Jamie and Shaun have been playing together for 11 years and have built a life out of "Making Sad Things Beautiful". They craft Folk Americana songs out of stories, melodies, and harmony that have been described as "stirring", and "haunting". Both are natives of Montana, but Jamie attended Prairie High School in Three Hills, and Rosebud School of the Arts, and feels like her soul is at least half Canadian.
